This Self-Directed Space / Open Dialogue time is allocated for anyone who wishes to start (or continue) an open community conversation about any topic in its relationahip to the DC area dance community. Using Open Space technology as a model, participants of this session are invited to state any intended topics for discussion, then all who wish are invited to engage in dialogue around those stated topics.
Conversations may happen simultaneously in small groups, or participants may choose to remain in a single group and have specific topics consecutively discussed during the allotted time.
Participants will be asked to complete an Exit Survey that will ask the following questions:
- Please identify the initial stated topic of your conversation
- Please share any key concepts, thoughts, statements or ideas that emerged from your conversation
- What action step(s), if any, are you willing to make in order to move this conversation into action?
This time is an open format with an intention to hold the space for anyone to open or continue conversations within the dance community.
This session will not be facilitated. However, participants will be invited to identify at least one action step they will commit to in order to move their conversation into action.
